Naar aanleiding van de kanker-diagnose bij mijn zoon Thibault neem ik deel aan Run to Kick. Deze organisatie financiert onderzoek naar kanker bij kinderen. Voor de farmaceutische bedrijven is dit onderzoek financieel niet interessant, omdat in verhouding veel minder kinderen dan volwassenen kanker krijgen. Bijgevolg krijgen Thibault en zijn lotgenootjes nog steeds behandelingen die al 50 jaar oud of ouder zijn. Met heel veel nevenwerkingen als gevolg. KickCancer wil dit veranderen en wil het onderzoek naar nieuwe, betere medicatie mee financieren!

We therefore financially support scientific research, and bring together the drive, inspiration and knowledge of everyone involved. From researchers, doctors and parents to politicians and pharmaceutical companies. Only a joint effort can ensure that children with cancer are cured and better cured.

FIGHT KIDS CANCER is a joint initiative by KickCancer, Imagine for Margo (France), the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (Luxembourg), the CRIS Cancer Foundation (Spain) and KiKa (the Netherlands). Our aim is to accelerate the most innovative treatments thanks to European financing and collaboration of research in paediatric cancers.
