Why I'm running
I'm a father of three and a grandfather, and on 27 September I'm running RUN TO KICK in the Bois de la Cambre for KickCancer.
Cancer has been my life's work. I've built lung and breast cancer screening programmes, and my PhD was on functional MRI for planning brain surgery in adults and children. Today I work on bringing AI into radiology across European clinics so diagnoses are faster and more accurate. But childhood cancers are rare, under-researched, and their treatments are hard on a small body. That is what this run is about.
Every euro I raise goes straight to research for kinder, more effective treatments for kids. My goal is at least €200, and I'd love to reach €500.

Find new treatments, improve existing ones, and kick children’s cancer to send it far, far away forever and may it never come back! We therefore financially support scientific research, and bring together the drive, inspiration and knowledge of everyone involved. From researchers, doctors and parents to politicians and pharmaceutical companies. Only a joint effort can ensure that children with cancer are cured and better cured.

FIGHT KIDS CANCER is a joint initiative by KickCancer, Imagine for Margo (France), the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (Luxembourg), the CRIS Cancer Foundation (Spain) and KiKa (the Netherlands). Our aim is to accelerate the most innovative treatments thanks to European financing and collaboration of research in paediatric cancers.
