In 2023 werd bij het dochtertje van goede vrienden van ons een zeldzame vorm van kinderkanker (neuroblastoom) ontdekt. Chemotherapie, een operatieve ingreep en vele controles gooiden hen geheel onverwacht in een totaal ongewenste rollercoaster. Maar wat zaten ze die rit moedig uit. Samen af en toe vallen, maar altijd weer met volle kracht opstaan. We keken van aan de zijlijn vol bewondering toe en probeerden aan te moedigen waar het kon. Een fantastisch team in het UZA redde haar leven. Een pienter en vreugdevol dametje met haar eigen willetje danst nu elke nieuwe dag in.

Maar daar mag het niet zomaar stoppen. Elk kindje zou kans moeten krijgen op genezing en een prachtige, zorgeloze kindertijd en jeugd. Daarom willen we via KickCancer onderzoek steunen en loop ik eind september mee. Steun jij ook?

FIGHT KIDS CANCER is a joint initiative by KickCancer, Imagine for Margo (France), the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (Luxembourg), the CRIS Cancer Foundation (Spain) and KiKa (the Netherlands). Our aim is to accelerate the most innovative treatments thanks to European financing and collaboration of research in paediatric cancers.
