Wie mij kent, weet dat duursporten niet echt mijn ding zijn. 😅 Geef mij maar een halter, een bokshandschoen of een stevige krachttraining.

En toch sta ik op 27 september aan de start van Run To Kick.

Niet omdat ik plots een fervent hardloper ben geworden, maar omdat sommige redenen groter zijn dan je eigen comfortzone.

Ik loop met Sophia en Fenne in mijn gedachten. Voor hen, voor hun families, en voor alle andere kinderen die elke dag een strijd leveren die geen enkel kind zou moeten voeren.

Elke kilometer die ik loop, staat symbool voor hoop. Hoop op betere behandelingen, meer onderzoek en een toekomst waarin minder gezinnen met kinderkanker geconfronteerd worden.

Find new treatments, improve existing ones, and kick children’s cancer to send it far, far away forever and may it never come back!
